Lana's only chance to escape the war-torn Balkans is her long-lost brother, Darko, a low level gangster with enemies intent on revenge.  The two escape to America with hopes of a better life, but Lana's illusions are shattered as she is forced to become a prostitute on the mean streets of Chicago. As Lana gets pulled deeper into her brother's criminal world, a steely determination grows and she must risk her own life to overcome Darko and his pursuers if she hopes to realize her American dream.
